I’ve been slammed with homework my entire first week of school and my skin has been on fire. So, Trip has had his play time and then 30 minute sessions between classes. I haven’t had time to record us working due to how busy we’ve been, but I think I’ll be able to record a bit of a session tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there, everyone! It’s so encouraging to see your support. 💕 Love to all of you! {Video of me petting Trip to sleep} . Follow our friend @cayenne.the.service.pup ! . . .

Snow day!!! He kept losing his ball in the snow and it was too cold for him to pick back up so he would carry it 2 steps and lose it again 😂 I’ll post more pictures of the snow today and then a training session of us opening the fridge tomorrow. {9 months old} . Learning how to pull to open things now! The first video was our last command during this session and the third video was the first minute of our session and the first time introducing the concept of pull (there was about 40 seconds recorded prior to it but one of my other dogs sat in front of the camera). I wanted to include the beginning of learning something new so that you all could see how I introduced the skill: I had him take the belt, I pulled up, said pull, and when he still held on I rewarded him. As this became more consistent I stopped pulling when I said the command and he had to create the same sensation himself in order to be rewarded. The reason we moved to a cracked door first is so that it provides little resistance while building confidence in preforming the skill correctly. Later we will build to opening refrigerator doors so that he can get me a water if I’m stuck in the bathroom during one of my tummy episodes. I get dehydrated really fast during them which I believe also contributes to me passing out. {9 months old} . Follow our friend @cayenne.the.service.pup . . .

Learning to turn lights off today! Once he can do this without fumbling we will learn how to turn them on! The reason we are learning this is mostly for fun, but it will be helpful on the days that I can’t stand up due to pain. It’s not super often that it happens but it will be nice to have for those times. {9 months old} . For more cool pups go follow @cayenne.the.service.pup ! . . .

I hope everyone is having a happy start to 2018! Our goal is to get 100% public access ready and to ignore all drive-by pets when working! What’s a goal that you have for 2018? First time meeting my uncle’s dogs! They had too much fun!!! I didn’t expect Trip to attempt the jump! He surprises me everyday with his growing confidence! (The video catches the first time he jumped and you can hear me laughing in shock!) {9 months old} . Looking for more sweet pups? Go follow @cayenne.the.service.pup ! . .

Practicing not eating food unless given permission. This is his breakfast so he has to practice extra self-control because this is HIS food and his hungry time. There are 2 reasons for us learning this skill. 1. People have tried to feed him without permission while we are out and some of these things have been harmful (i.e. a lollipop). He has a very sensitive tummy and even “normal” things can create medical problems for him. 2. Eating random stuff off the ground serves as a distraction and isn’t good manners. {9 months old} . When you leave your pup with your sister for a couple hours... haha! He’s so dirty! OMG! He has had a blast out here playing with the other dogs in the rain ☺️ We will probably get back to really working in a few days when we get home. {9 months old} . Looking for more sweet pups?
