When hits the fog, and the daylight fades into dusk, golden hour meets golden hills, and golden grass. is the golden state, but not just because of the gold that sent men and women to the task of mining. After the winter rains have long gone the grass of the Coastal mountains dries out and turns a golden brown. They can be fuel for our annual wildfires, and they can be feed for grazing animals of all sorts. When golden hour hits the golden hills in the golden state, it's hard not to feel like you've won a gold medal. Pictures may say a thousand words, but they can hardly do justice to the rugged beauty of the earth, or the wonderful colors of the imagination of the one who created them and who holds the stars in place. Here in the Los Padres Forest Santa Lucia ranges high above the fog, but not far from the coast, heaven meets earth . . . captures taken with @canonusa @canonglobal Lens: EF 24-105mm f/4L i.s. 24.00mm ISO: 400 F/5.6 1/60

Colburn School Report Download 3 162

Richard Colburn, namesake of the Colburn School, facilitated the relocation of the School’s music and dance facilities from warehouse-like facilities on the USC campus, to downtown Los Angeles, and in so doing, created a vibrant, new, community-based School of the Performing Arts 💫 . At the time, downtown’s Grand Avenue was only just emerging as a cultural destination, with the Colburn School soon becoming one of its major anchors. The building’s design, therefore, had to both address the contextual conditions of the day yet anticipate a burgeoning future 🤗 . After several years of operations, the School returned to us to design facilities that would allow it to expand to become a College Conservatory, providing student housing, a new 250-seat recital hall, music library, educational spaces and a variety of practice and rehearsal rooms. The two buildings are linked by an active courtyard and dining commons, creating a campus-like environment for both students and audience members 💜 • • •
